TOGETHER WITH
Good morning, Fayette County. I hope you all had a wonderful, holly jolly Christmas! My family and I are so grateful for the memories made this year. I always assumed December 26th, Boxing Day, referred to the arduous journey of packing up our decorations, but I recently learned its true roots are much more meaningful. Historically, it was a day to give 'Christmas boxes' of money or gifts to tradespeople, community, and the Church. Knowing that, it feels like the perfect day to keep the spirit of the season alive by giving back to a local cause you care about.

Mystery Solved: Those Giant Columns at 54/74
If you’ve found yourself stuck at the infamous Highway 54-74 intersection recently, you’ve likely spotted those tall, rebar-topped columns rising from the construction zone. At first glance, they look like the start of a massive bridge project. Don't worry, we aren't getting an overpass! These are actually the foundations for new decorative signage designed to blend into our local aesthetic while helping motorists navigate the intersection and ensure everyone is in the correct lane well before they reach the light.
Security Camera Expansion Considered for Brooks
The Brooks Town Council is looking to upgrade security at public facilities following a recent meeting. Councilman Scott Israel proposed installing at least 13 new cameras, five internal and eight external, to monitor prominent areas of town, including the local football fields. While the county line is currently monitored by the Sheriff’s Office via FLOCK cameras, Mayor Dan Langford has requested three formal bids to bring this additional, town-specific surveillance network to life.
