Good morning, Fayette County,
Before we get into today’s news, I want to say thank you to the incredible sponsors who help make the Fayette Flyer possible. My name might be at the bottom of these morning intros, but I certainly don’t get to take all the credit.
Their support helps keep the Flyer showing up in your inbox, and I’m grateful for every business that has chosen to be part of it. There’s a lot that goes into gathering the news, finding local events, and putting each edition together. Having sponsors who support that work means a lot.
Now that it’s October, we’re officially in Q4. That means holiday promotions, year-end plans, and somehow already thinking about 2027. I’m doing a little of that planning myself.
If you’re planning your business’s marketing for the rest of the year and into 2027, let us know! I’d love to see more local businesses at the top of the Flyer and introduce our readers to more of the people doing great things right here in Fayette County.
Just hit reply to this email and tell me a little about your business and what you have in mind.
- Chad

THE DIGEST
Weather Delays Trilith’s Day of Art and Music
Trilith’s fourth annual Makers & Music Arts Festival will have to wait for a better forecast. Organizers postponed the October 3 gathering because of expected weather conditions, and a replacement date has not yet been announced. The festival was set to bring local musicians, artists, and families into Town Centre for an afternoon of performances and creative activities. Its planned Maker’s Passport experience included pottery, origami, a collaborative LEGO mural, and science projects, giving visitors plenty of ways to participate. Organizers will share the revised schedule once arrangements are finalized. Anyone planning to attend should watch Trilith’s event updates for the new date and confirmed details before making fresh plans.
Fayetteville Ticket Brings a Million-Dollar Win to Tyrone
A scratch-off ticket sold in Fayetteville has delivered a $1 million prize to a Tyrone resident, linking two Fayette communities to one big win. The resident claimed the prize Thursday, October 1, after playing the Georgia Lottery’s 2nd Edition Billionaire Club game. The ticket came from Fayette Village BP at 1408 Highway 54 West. The winner selected the cash option, taking a single payment of $535,398.06. That payout differs from the game’s advertised $1 million prize, an important distinction behind the headline. Georgia Lottery proceeds also support education statewide through HOPE scholarships and Georgia’s Pre-K program. Since the lottery began, more than 2.3 million students have received HOPE funding.
After the Last Ride, Fun Spot Holds an Online Auction
The next stop for many of Fun Spot America Atlanta’s attractions is an online auction, as the former Fayetteville amusement park sells off rides, games, and equipment following its August 2 closure. Bidding runs through Wednesday, October 14, at 2 p.m. Bill Ramsey & Associates is handling the sale, which includes go-karts, bumper boats, a carousel, arcade machines, and restaurant equipment. Buyers can inspect items October 12 and 13 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., or October 14 from 10 a.m. to noon. Pickup begins October 15, with more time available for larger attractions. One major ride is absent from the sale: ArieForce One. Six Flags purchased the roller coaster for relocation. The auction closes another chapter for a property many residents first knew as Dixieland Fun Park.
