Good morning, Fayette County.

A lot of us were looking forward to getting out to some of the events planned around Fayette this weekend. Then the forecast rolled in, organizers got cautious, and a few things were called off before the weather ever really showed up. Around my house, that meant staring at a sky that looked threatening enough to cancel plans but never actually delivered the rain my new Master Gardener plant sale purchases could have used.

One thing this weekend did remind me of is how quickly local plans can change. An event gets canceled, postponed, or updated, and if you are not checking in at the right moment, it is easy to miss. That is one of the reasons I keep the Fayette Flyer active on Facebook and Instagram. I use those pages to share last-minute event updates, cancellations, and other local happenings that pop up too late to make it into the newsletter.

So here is a friendly reminder: if you are not already following along on social media, now is a good time. You will find the links at the bottom of this email.

The Key to Better aging: More NAD+

Most skincare works on the surface. Aramore goes where real aging begins: the basal layer of the skin, where new cells form. Backed by decades of research from Harvard and MIT scientists, Aramore is the first topical system designed to support skin’s NAD+ — the molecule your cells rely on for repair, energy, and resilience.

As NAD+ naturally declines with age, visible changes follow: dullness, uneven tone, fine lines, and loss of firmness. Aramore’s unique complex of NAD+ precursors, ketones, and fatty acids helps replenish cells at the source for skin that acts healthier and younger.

Clinically shown to improve tone, radiance, smoothness, and firmness as soon as 28 days.

THE DIGEST

Fayette County Seeks Public Input on 20-Year Transportation Plan

Fayette County will hold the first public meeting for its Comprehensive Transportation Plan update on Tuesday, May 12, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at 240 Glynn Street, giving residents an early chance to weigh in on future transportation needs across the county. The update covers all of Fayette County, including Brooks, Fayetteville, Peachtree City, Tyrone, and Woolsey, and will help guide transportation investments over the next 20 years. During the drop-in meeting, community members can review initial findings, learn more about the planning process, and share concerns or ideas related to daily commuting, freight movement, walking, biking, and Fayette’s golf cart network. County officials are also encouraging residents to participate through the project’s online survey, which allows users to digitally mark areas of need or opportunity and respond to feedback from others. More information and project updates are available at fayettectp.com.

The Avenue Adds Biscuit Belly, With More New Shops Still on the Way

The Avenue Peachtree City continues to add new reasons for people to stop by. Biscuit Belly officially opened its first Peachtree City location this past week, bringing a Southern-inspired breakfast and brunch concept to the shopping center. The restaurant joins the Avenue’s growing food lineup and marks the brand’s second Georgia location. More additions are still on the way, too. Southern Home & Garden has announced plans to open at 312 City Circle next to Ted’s, bringing home décor and gift items to the center, while Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams has also confirmed plans for a future Peachtree City scoop shop at The Avenue. Taken together, the recent opening and upcoming tenants show that The Avenue is still evolving as one of the city’s busiest retail and dining hubs.

Fayette County to Open New Treatment Center for Accountability Court Participants

Judge Jason B. Thompson and the Fayette County Accountability Court team will officially open Fayette Treatment Services on Thursday, May 1 at 2:00 PM, creating a dedicated space built specifically for participants in Fayette County Accountability Courts. The new facility will serve as the central location for both group and individual therapy, giving participants a structured setting focused on recovery, accountability, and personal growth. County leaders say the space was intentionally designed to give participants a sense of ownership and pride as they work toward healthier, more stable futures. The center will initially serve those already in county programs, with plans to expand services over time to meet broader community needs. The grand opening will include a short program, a ribbon-cutting, and tours of the new facility, with community members, partners, and stakeholders invited to attend.

CIVIL NEWS

Tonight, the Peachtree City Planning Commission holds a public hearing at 6:30 PM in the Council Chambers at Peachtree City City Hall, 151 Willowbend Road. Public hearings are the main moment for residents to weigh in on zoning and land-use questions before they reach City Council, so if you've been watching a particular project, this is the night to show up. The agenda is typically posted at the city's Government Meetings page in the days leading up.

Tuesday evening, the Fayetteville Planning & Zoning Commission meets at 6:00 PM in the Council Chambers at Fayetteville City Hall, 210 Stonewall Avenue West. Same idea, different city: applications for variances, rezoning, and site-plan review get their first formal review here.

Earlier the same evening, the Peachtree City Transportation Advisory Group holds its 4th-Tuesday meeting at 6:30 PM. This is a less-publicized body that weighs in on cart path repairs, road safety, and intersection priorities. Quiet but consequential.
